Kathleen Moss, mezzo soprano, has been recognized as a singer with a “great voice and projection, and a dramatic ability seldom seen on the opera stage.”
On the concert stage, Ms. Moss most recently appeared as the alto soloist in Mozart's Requiem with Sacramento's Camerata California. She has performed the role of the Angel in The Dream of Gerontius with the Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra and has appeared as the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Stockton Symphony. Her concert repertoire includes Mozart’s Requiem & Coronation Mass, Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Bach's Magnificat, Vaughan Williams' Magnificat, Beethoven’s Mass in C, Duruflé's Requiem, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass and Saint-Saën's Oratorio de Noël. Ms. Moss sang the premiere performance of Divide Light, an opera based on the work of Emily Dickenson and appeared as a featured soloist in the San Francisco Earthquake Centennial Concert, broadcast live on National Public Radio.
On the operatic stage Ms. Moss most recently appeared as Florence Pike in Pocket Opera's Albert Herring. She has performed with many opera companies in the San Francisco area including San Francisco Opera, Opera San Jose, West Bay Opera, San Francisco Lyric Opera, Berkeley Opera, West Edge Opera, San Francisco Opera Guild, Livermore Valley Opera, Cinnabar Opera, Trinity Lyric Opera, North Bay Opera, and Lamplighter Music Theater. Her operatic repertoire includes Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana, the title role in Carmen, Dido in Dido & Aeneas, Judith in Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle, Maddalena in Rigoletto, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, Mrs. Grose in The Turn of the Screw, Bianca in The Rape of Lucretia and Polina in Pique Dame.
